SIP Hosted seats (V.O.I.P) has only been availble to use as of late, but employees of BT and A T & T have bene using them for a quite some time!
Businesses and call centres have had to endure hefty
PBX boxes to maintain a telephone system, which more often than not costs a considerable amount (Not great when you are a small business).
But big telecom companies like
BT,
AT&T etc. Have been using a form of SIP Hosted seats for years (All through a simple ADSL internet connection).
Why is this?
Firstly it is a more effective way to deal with a telephone system and secondly big telecom companies will always get first dibs on whatever new products come out. Due to these large companies having this hosted seat technology for so long you could interpret it as the ultimate test of quality ...
This fashions two fundamental questions
Does it work for them?
and
Do BT and AT&T still use them?
The answer is YES to both, it works for them and they still use it! If it's good for them then of course it's going to be good for everyone else! (It's the equivalent to knowing what kind of tooth paste your dentist uses!)
Cutting to the chaise ...
